Cam was one of the first Dyxumer to make me feel welcome when I joined. I recall a couple of PMs we exchanged when he had given sound advice in his particular warm and friendly manner or suggestions and criticisms in our open forums.. A mentor I never had the chance to meet. But a Dyxumer many of us feel bonded with due to his likeable nature.

His family should know he'll be missed by his friends from across the globe particularly from this forum.

My condolences to his family.

I really don't visit dyxum enough lately - this is very sad news and quite upsetting .
I as many other dyxumers who've been around awhile would have been influenced by Cam and he will be sorely missed.
When I first joined Cam was the very first admin to communicate with me and I at first thought he was dyxum and I was kinda right in a way.
He was always quick to give good helpful criticism and also as quick to give praise when it was due.
I can honestly say he had a direct influence on my growth as a photographer and it's due to him that I am particularly anal when it comes to straight horizons.
My deepest condolences to his family and all the fellow dyxumers who he has touched.
Thank you Cam.

I don't pay attention to the site for a few days and then this happens. Flabbergasted.

Cam's knowledge and eye were superlative, and though we never met, his presence on this forum was one of the bedrocks that defined its character. My deepest condolences to his family, and his body of work will leave a legacy that everyone can be proud of.

Empathy and sympathy to his family. And a "thank you" for his assistance and efforts in organizing and establishing Dyxum. Deeply appreciated.

Respectfully,

Oh Cam, oh Cam how much I wanted to fulfill two items on my bucket list - visiting New Zealand and meeting you. But I have met you through your kindness towards me, for your invitation from dpreview to join here, from your firm but always polite corrections and mostly for the reflection of your and Mladen's values on this forum - civility and encouragement. A wonderful decade for me on Dyxum due in very large measure to your presence here.

A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says She is gone.

Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all.

We miss you Cam and my condolences to his family.
