I do not know what description says it is steel, but this site says it indeed is concrete: https://www.tourisme-hautevienne.com/patrimoine-et-visites/patrimoine-bati/ponts-et-ouvrages-d-art/le-pont-du-dognon-12687

My 1997 ANWB-booklet from the Golden Series on Dordogne-Limousin talks about an iron bridge... on page 94, bottom lines.

Whananaki Bridge: longest documented footbridge in the southern hemisphere. Originally built so kids could get across the estuary to school.

Thank you for posting this. I'd never even heard of it, now added to our road-trip itinerary for February (if Jacinda lets us).

Outtakes for the Bridges DPC; to be honest I like 3 and 4 better than the two I put in the DPC

I tried painting different colors, but I'm not good at it, so the colors are as shot, B&W didn't thrill me as much for some reason.

Footbridge over the "low water side" door of the Wijnegem lock in the King Albert canal (January 2014)

NEX6 + E10-18/4

And since all bridges over the King Albert canal are increased in height to allow an additional layer of containers to be taken on the barges this footbridge was replaced by a newer one a bit higher up (Oktober 2020)

Pelserbrugje in Zwolle

A850 + Min 35/2

The Pelserbrugje is a pedestrian bridge in the center of Zwolle that crosses the Thorbeckegracht.

The bridge is named after the furriers (=pelsers) who were active in Zwolle in the 15th century and was built in 1974 after a design by Maarten Binnendijk. Originally there was a seesaw bridge from 1686 on this spot, but this disappeared in the course of the 18th century. The bridge was built at the request of the residents of the current Thorbeckegracht. They complained about the isolated location of their houses from the city center and were therefore allowed to build a footbridge over the canal at their own expense.
