Pelserbrugje in Zwolle
![]() A850 + Min 35/2 The Pelserbrugje is a pedestrian bridge in the center of Zwolle that crosses the Thorbeckegracht. The bridge is named after the furriers (=pelsers) who were active in Zwolle in the 15th century and was built in 1974 after a design by Maarten Binnendijk. Originally there was a seesaw bridge from 1686 on this spot, but this disappeared in the course of the 18th century. The bridge was built at the request of the residents of the current Thorbeckegracht. They complained about the isolated location of their houses from the city center and were therefore allowed to build a footbridge over the canal at their own expense. |
