Between the two Moerdijk railbridges, left with the new high speed line, right the older one with the moderate speed local line.

Indeed, but on the near side it "bumps" against the shore so it won't swing to both sides. I've never seen another bridge like this

Indeed, the Mayor of Wijnegem and the building company gave an interview for the local newspaper where they tried to explain why this was needed. But I think they didn't succeed, other than "the logistics of the project required we demolish this bridge now, before completing the new one" no further explanation was given.

I remember the yeast factory (seen earlier) between the new and old bridges.
Oddly, they are building the new bridge only after demolishing the old one.

Last weekend they took down the southern half of the banana bridge in Wijnegem, this weekend they're working on the northern half
