Looks somewhat cool, but still reasonably pleasant weather to sit on a bench...

Actually that day wasn't super cold, I think for most of the day the temperature was just 0°C, although strong wind sure made this feel bit colder. And when I thought about doing some high magnification macro on snow flakes, the problem was that when I captured some snow flakes on a glove and then tried to photograph these the snow had melted before I even got camera aimed at these!

Good Lord, Heikki, that looks Cold! 🥶 How deep was it? If we wanted to sit, could we even get there?
I wish I had snow like that last week in Ely, Nevada!
Thanks for sharing!
Regards,

Kelly

There was about meter between the pathway, which had been plowed, and that bench. Just now the weather stations in Helsinki report that the snow depth is 37 cm snow at Kaisaniemi and 63 cm at Kumpula. The latter is closer to the locationw where I took this picture. And Nuuksio weather station in neighbouring city Espoo reports 88 cm of snow. Couple days ago it was even few cm more, but now the snow has got more packed. And not super cold today, looking at Kumpula statistics around the time took the photo, the temperature was -5.7°C and temperature has been on rise and just now it close to the freezing point.

Although lots of snow has its advantages, the recent heavy snowfall has also meant some interruptions on traffic on streets/roads and railways (few trams did go off the rails) and there has been few trees branches that have fell down on the weight of the snow.

Thanks, I thought the snowy bench looked quite funny, so I decided to snap a photo and share it here. I have also taken quite a few other snowy pictures in the last couple days and I will post some of them later...
