Unidentified small insect. Maybe about 6mm long.

Superb shot though, the bristling antenna are a strong focal point, and the green hues throughout the shot very pleasing. Cracking amount of detail as well. |

Crane Fly (fam. Tipulidae). Can't be more specific because Australian insects are a bit removed from my NZ arachnid background... But it might get you ona start. Also, very nice picture- love the detail in the antenna. |

One of my work mates is looking into leaf cutter ants and let me have a close look at one of the species under investigation. Will try to get some shots of the soldiers up next time but this is what the workers look like...

Close up of a bug which I found few days ago in my house... It looks like Bumble Flower Beetle (Euphoria inda), but according to local (Israeli) websites it is Tropinota squalida, which, apparently, is very common around here.

Two tiger beetle species from a quick trip to Argentina last month. Aside from a few hours mudskipping along Rio Tunuyan in Mendoza province, there was no time for photo hunting outdoors so I'd only brought an a7 on this trip and an early version Nikkor 60 2.8 Micro AF-D. Not an obvious choice for macro combo I'll admit, but the Nikkor was a gift to Nikon-shooting grad students there.
