Wow! (@ darosa)

I borrowed a big monitor to do some photo editing at work and this is the first photo I saw on it. My cooment is not very sophisitcated, but it's a great catch and that's the reaction it gets from me on the big screen.

Thanks Paul and dd001. I had been monitoring this guy (?) for a few days and yesterday I decided to have a go at him. It was under the table in the garden so it was quite an operation with the tripod and twin flash (could only use one)and I had to use some rarely used muscles in the process. When I started taking pictures with the flash it suddenly collected its trophies and started eating them as if it was afraid I/the flash might take them from him. As it is a rather small spider (body about 1 cm) and it was quiete dark under the table, I had no wow feeling at that moment. Only when I saw him on the monitor I thought: arachnafobia makes sense.
BTW: the twin flash is a great help in macro. Buy one if you can!

Thanks Shaggy. I've only recently started taking 'serious' macro photographs and I have a lot of learning to do of the insect world.

The first with the SAL70200G, rest with the Tammy. Just happened to notice this web as the sun was setting last night, so I was just grabbing bursts and hoping for the best with about one out of 5 being sharp, or sharp enough that is. All handheld and the first two were with SS off, not on purpose though.

Robert, Spiders, schmiders, is that zucchini your growing? Hey, if he can keep the bugs away, you've got your own security detail. BTW, I like the detail and lighting in #3 best.

Cheers... Brian

This guy doesn't seem to know where to put it's feet. It's so confused that it even carries a question mark on the head.
Sorry about the focus. None of the shots I got of it had perfect focus, but this one looked funniest.
