Not often I do surfing shots so pardon the photo bomb and processing that I'm not 100% sure of.
Late afternoon with the sun starting to set behind the Great Dividing Range had the beach in decent light, combined with off shore winds made for an interesting afternoon. Very contrasty light made it a challenge.

A nice set there Johan, you have got the whites nice and crisp and the exposure on the surfers themselves look spot on with good flesh tones which I always find particularly difficult with surfing shots. I notice you are using a 150-500 lens can I ask which one, I am looking to get a longer lens for surfing shots without spending a fortune.

Thanks Roger.
It's the Sigma 150-500 OS lens, was my budget lens to get into "serious" birding some 4 years ago and it's been a treat!
Though seen enough shots with said lens to know there's likely some sample variety and mine seem to be one of the good ones.

Very nice set Johan - great job on the exposure as it's very easy to blow the highlights out in this situation. I will also vouch that you have a very good copy of the 150-500mm as I am always astounded by what you produce from it although part of that would be expert hands it's in.

Cheers Steve.
That lens surprises me too, mostly for the better but sometimes for the worse. Had a fair few lockups with it lately where both focus and OS just shuts down, fixed quickly by just un-mount/re-mount but it's somewhat concerning.
Can't be sure it's the lens though, it's my only non screwdrive lens so could just aswell be the camera that's started playing up.

Very nice set excellent sharpness, I tried this lens, (used) I did not have this clarity, also with the a77 it sounded strange
I did not buy it.
