Great!

I am good at coming up with half-ideas and then not following through with them so you'll be sure to hear from me at some point

I should probably take a look at the one I wrote/co-wrote with Turerkan (this one about GIMP), to see whether & how much of it is still accurate!

Great!
Richard, I will be happy if you share some of your knowledge over here!

Matt, thanks! That will be great! I believe there are newer versions since then, and I know these days many are looking for alternatives for Adobe...

Hello,

It is clear I've promised to contribute my report about the KM5D repair manual to the base.

The problem is, my original is stored @ a hard drive witch is now for 10 months out of my reach during a divorce,....

I expect it back @ the end of this year, if the files are not corrupted I be happy to contribute my report.

I'l be back

Hello, again ;)

I recently pick up a project to upgrade my gear to WiFi

Thinking to share this, so if its done and I solved al the problems,
to write a detailed manual about this project.

Upgrading pending progress till now:

KMDiA200 fully Wifi functional
KM5D test phase, still having shielding and power problems
KM7D test phase, power problems
SA200 test phase CF-SDHC/X adaptor is not compatible

For the record I use a Generic CF-SDHC/X adaptor bought it for a
bargain € 8,= on a e-bay auction.

For the WiFi I use a Toshiba class 6 SDHC Format 8Gb FlashAir Card.
I bought 2 for a bargain € 22,= each also on e-bay.

One off the Wifi cards is now a class 10 do upgrading to the latest firmware for testing. Also using the newest software to access the card's on my laptop and the Toshiba FlashAir app on my andriod phone.

And al my Gear has the latest firmware installed.

Don't know if people are interesting in this,...so If you are, willing to contribute this.

Let me know,....Kind.reg.

Is this the right place to post a quick tip on white balance problems with Sony cameras?

Cheers

Post it! And if you're not sure it is enough for an article, why not post something in the Digital Darkroom section or the relevant part of the Cameras section. White blance tips are always appreciated.

Not sure if this is the place to say this, but re-reading the excellent glossary, I was struck that in describing the D lenses, it was implied that the 8-pin connection was only used for distance encoding and was of questionable value.

Surely it would be worth pointing out there that all 8 contacts are needed for SAM lenses/etc, and that if a 5-pin TC or extension tube is used with a modern lens the camera will get upset and the lens will not AF?
Just a thought!
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A7Rii, A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras ...
