Strictly speaking, #6 is the only one that's not totally candid.
We were shooting in their family's cannabis fields and they (two boys) came over to see what we were doing.
I speak quite good Mandarin and, after explaining that we were just taking photos, I asked if I could take their photos.
I took 3 shots: one of both then one of each and obviously gave them some direction.

All the other spots are absolutely candid including the shot of myself and Jarod for which, I asked my wife to take the shot on my camera.

The little boy kneeling in Langmusi was fixated on me and stayed quite still making it easy to capture. I was also well known in the town so parents were not concerned. I always returned on my next trip clutching 8x10 enlargements for each of them.

Just looking at this last page, all the shots are of a high standard. Obviously kids bring out the best in us as photographers.

On this last page in particular I single out:

Spider kid by Fred.
A great grab and well composed in the moment.

Thanks Mike, it was really grabbing the moment in the neighbourhood.
Composition was partly adjusted by cropping afterwards.
Unfortunately current privacy rules don't make it easier to shoot (and post) candid shots like these.

Yes, that's an imposition based on 'someone elses' law/perception. I find quite a few forums, for example Facebook, very puritanical and often on secular grounds. They are exporting their own bias, predjudice and laws and forcing them on all of us who use those platforms regardless of location, local laws and mores.

Here in NZ, it is still legal to shoot and display pretty much any image shot in public.
However, it IS illegal to deliberately aim your camera into someone's private window for example.
Shots of kids playing are not censored or banned.
