To compensate for the very hot day of the above two shots here a wintertime oldie from Castle Hallehof near Halle-Zoersel in Belgium.

Hi Pieter,

Three very contrasting images here! I like the pano more than the single shot variants of De Steeg due to the more prominent nature of the house in that version, whilst the contrast with Castle Hallehof is a nice balance in the series. Shame about the rather ugly flagpole - come - radio mast in that one: might have been tempted to clone that out I think!

Best regards, Neil.

Thanks for the comments Neil. Splendid idea about the radio mast, it's now gone

Thanks for explaining your preference about the Middachten shots as well, If you focus on the house indeed the first is preferable but I saw the second more as a photo of a prominent fountain with the house as background/context but apparently the fountain doesn't draw enough attention by itself yet. Appreciate your insights, always good to get an outside view on what I'm posting here.

To Scherpenzeel, Gelderland, The Netherlands. The place I grew up - not in the castle, but a normal house in town.

Great Addy, another place to add to my "to visit" list

I think 2 and 3 would look better with some perspective correction, but I especially like your last shot with the reflection. It reminded me of something I did at Middachten. However I didn't have a wide enough lens with me (week prime challenge, you know) so this is a vertical stitch of four handheld horizontal shots. Again stitched in Lightroom, which did a very decent job of it.
