These are very interesting photos of a fascinating structure. Is this built into a hillside, or does it just have gardens placed on the roofing? Hopefully that roof doesn't leak! Regards, Kelly |

Hi Kelly, thanks for the comment.
It's a building on level ground, but by design the rrofs were covered by a ~2 meter layer of earth to mitigate the effect of enemy bomb-shells landing there. Since these forts don't have a military function anymore nature took over and created a small forest on top. And rest assured, the roofs do leak

 Thanks, Pieter! I suppose they should have built better drainage for that roof! I'd guess there is a lot of weight on it. Maybe a faulted ceiling below? In any case your photos kind of peak my interest and get my old mind wondering about things like this!  Kelly |
