I think a central composition fitted this Rhododendron bud/flower quite well. I was especially attracted how the leaves behind it "framed" the subject.

I just realized it is a bit strange we have a dedicated "central compositions" thread but lack a "rule of thirds" thread

Any way, as I said last year, I love central compositions:

If I really wanted one I would've started one..... I just noticed that often when one posts a central composition somebody says "it would've been better if the subject wasn't in the centre" - Reading those remarks it is remarkable that none of those people felt the need to start a dedicated rule of thirds thread.
