Hello,

Does anyone know if the AC-SQ950D charger will work with the NP-FM500H batteries? I'm looking for a dual charger and I came across this one. The directions obviously do not mention the battery and it is a pre "Alpha" insignia charger.

I am aware of the AC-VQ900AM.

Thanks,
NIKO

I cannot be certain, but quick web search finds information that it is for M series batteries and NP-FM500H belongs to that series, so probably should accept also that battery type.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, but I'm hoping someone with direct use experience will be able to confirm.

Beware, the official AC Adapter /Dual Charger is listed as AC-VQ900AM

The one you mention is for M series but different models of batteries like NP-FM50, NP-FM70

Better check on the Sony support site for the instructions for both to see what they are compatible with

Hmmm, I can download a user manual for that but it doesn't say the battery type, just shows a picture of a camcorder. May be worth a look at this page on Dyxum.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'm hoping someone has practical experience trying the charger with the NP-FM500H battery.

Yeah, I pulled the user manuals for both chargers and neither mention the batteries listed in each others manuals. So I'm left wondering what may or may not work. Sony's website is no help at all.

I have an after-market dual charger with LCD display not unlike the Sony, and that takes drop-in trays which are battery-specific and allow you to charge any combination of batteries, once you've bought the right trays (which are not expensive). It looks something like this or this

I have the AC-SQ950 (there is no "D" on mine) and it can charge NP-FM500H batteries. Although it takes two batteries, it charges them one at a time.
