That's a very attractive (to my architect's eye) infill building, respecting the rhythm and scale of the streetscape, yet presenting itself as a thoroughly modern 21st century building. TFS.

The view we have now is a combination in what was build in 17th 18th and 19th century. Why not add a fitting building from this century.

South of the city center is an area is called "Oud Zuid" (Old South) in which the Apollobuurt is a more plush/rich area (judging by some houses and the cars parked in front). But I like the architecture there. Here's two examples:
