Our oldest daughter just moved to a 6th floor appartment on one of the main streets of Antwerp (Turnhoutsebaan / Carnotstraat / Astridplein / Rooseveldplaats). She has quite a nice view over the city from there:

1: looking south

2: looking west

We've had several Dyxum meetings in Antwerp, as well as several Belgian members who live in or close to the sity. So I expect lots of contributions here

Here's another special one from Antwerp taken in March 2008. It proves Saint Nicholas has more than one ship and he uses them to bring in all the childerens presents he gives out in December the whole year long.

I like # 2 & 3. The first shot is suffering, from a too much distortion correction (I guess that's what you have done in PP). But please do take my comment with a bit of salt.
In any case, if I am writing, then it is because I like it.

The place to be in Antwerp in summer time is 'Park Spoor Noord', which used to be a large railway yard, but was converted into a large park about 5 years ago.

@ stormvogel, Willem, great shot that is. I think I've seen it before and liked it then as well.

@MichelvA, that hall really invites the use of a fisheye

@EddyH, haven't been there yet, but now it's certainly on my list for next summer.

Here's a few more:

4: The town shield in "Het Steen" (the former gate to the city)

5: The interior of the "Stadsfeestzaal" (Town Party Hall), now fully restored and in use as a shopping center

6: Looking to the other side

7: The new museum "aan de stroom" (which took 13 years to complate )

8: A mural near the museum, a typical Belgian pub scene

Yeah, it was Bob's fisheye i tried if i remember right. Now i have some experience with a fisheye i would take a slightly different view maybe.

Another one from that day - sort of SP.

Nice shots from 't Steen and the Maritime museum exhibits along the river Aavo. Despite the very harsh light they came out nicely. Next time you're in town let me know, I'll treat you to a beer (or something else if you prefer that)

Here's two from last weekend
