Been a member for a long time so I suppose I should also start contributing home town pics. Been living here for close to 10 yrs now. A few from a walk during lunch break today. A9 plus MAF 24-50/f4 and 70-210/F4. 1. Courtyard behind my office bldg. 2. 3. 4. Abstract from a metal sculpture. 5. Balconies. My fav of the day. 6. Bike rentals. 7. Charlotte skyline from the ballpark. 8. 9. Say, kid, is that a beercan on an A9? C&C welcome and appreciated. Regards Sashi Edited by Micholand - 21 February 2018 at 18:54 |

Nice to see some images from (relatively) close to home. I like the composition in #5. A sunny version might have better contrast, but you've done well with the overcast skies. Looks like your fuzzy friend is still hanging around for some peanuts and Cracker Jack
Cheers... Brian |

Brian, thanks for commenting. Didn't realize there's someone relatively close by. I know there's one guy in north Charlotte and one in Boone but didn't notice there's one in the RTP area.
Raleigh has some pretty good spots for pics. Hope to see some from you as well. |

Great series!
My favorites are #2 and #9 - this little guy has kind of a cool attitude! TFS! |

I re-worked #2 above just to practice my perspective correction skills. I haven't use this technique all that much in the past.
Quite handy for architecture! |

I had missed this post before, so good that I could pick it up in the rebound. I like the series and you did well with the perspective correction. Also I like the color version a bit better. I understand your personal preference for #5. The squirrel is a great catch! TFS some views on your hometown with us.

Fred, thanks for your comments. That building is quite new and the colors are quite vibrant yet. Charlotte is undergoing a huge growth spurt.
Now that I've started this thread, I'll try to keep it going. Sashi |

Took a lunch time walk around a neighborhood locally called Noda as it's on North Davidson St. It's known a bit as an art district as well as a place that youngsters hang out and has a relaxed atmosphere.
Known for a good bit of garish (I don't mean that disparagingly) wall art. C&C welcome and appreciated. A99 plus MAF 28-135, generally between f/8 and f/13. 1. 2. 3. 4. Invitation to trespass? 5. MUST RESIST POPPING OPEN A COLD ONE!!! 6. Perhaps the most popular joint in that neighborhood. 7. Rental bikes are a thing but I'm not sure just how much they're actually used. 8. Fun in the sun. 9. Walking past. 10. Camouflaged lamps. Edited by skm.sa100 - 20 March 2018 at 03:41 |

That's an absolutely great set! So colorful!
#2, #3 and #9 are special to me, but I think the set culminates in #8 - an extraordinary image in terms of color, composition, mood and overall impact. Congratulations! TFS! |

Thanks!
I'm still new to my A99 and one thing I'm sure that feels different is just how well saturated the colors on a bright and sunny day. It was lunch hour, like I said, and I'm fairly sure my APS-C sensors might have resulted in more washed out images. I liked the psychedelic colors as well and made for an interesting shoot. All with A99 plus MAF 28-135.
1. Imaginon, the children's library. 2. HDR-ish 3. Excited kid - happy mom. 4. Headlines - photographer defies death for pic. 5. Bike (very imaginative title!) 6. Coffee lover's paradise. |
