@ braisim: It's still there, watch the day prime challenge thread and I'll post some pictures I took there this morning later today.

Edit: here's a picture, so you can start practicing your Dutch

Hi.

More relevant question is does anyone know why all the previous images (generally) are no longer available?

Kind regards, Neil.

Hi Neil, I've sent a PM to AnneM to see if some (or all) of the pictures can be restored.

Thanks, Pieter - I love this type of historical recording of life etc. and to loose these would be a great pity.

Kind regards, Neil,

Nice pictures over in the day prime challenge thread @pegelli.

I've tried to get up to Doel but for some reason my family aren't mad keen on the idea of wandering around a (largely) deserted village next to a nuclear power station. Can't think why...

Thanks braisim.

If you're in need of a buddy to go there let me know and I'm probably willing to tag along (with better light/weather).

Thanks for the offer. That would be interesting. Do you think Doel/Antwerp port would lend itself to early morning photos?

It always was a cosey place

First signs of decay

I'm verry sorry, but with the deletion of my SmugMug-albums all the posted pics are gone.
The good news is I have a Flickr-account now. So I'll try to fill-up the gaps this weekend.
One tiny problem, the order has changed, so agnore the C&C.

grtz AnneM

The pub in Doel is still open

NEX6 + Panagor 28/2 (OM mount)

Btw, the authorities have now appointed stewards to ensure people don't enter the buildings in the village anymore. The demolition works are expected to resume later this year, so if you want to visit it needs to happen soon.
