Nice set, Hezu. Lots of variety. #1 and 2 leap of the screen as my favourites. Maybe crop a little off the bottom of #1?? On my screen they all seem a little bit dark, but not much.

Close but no cigar! This is the building next door, which houses the Supreme Court. Ok, you do can see also little of the Presidential Palace on right side of the picture.

And now, something completely different: namely pictures from the northerns edges of Helsinki as the Vantaa river here marks the boundary between cities Helsinki and Vantaa.

    1.

I took these yesterday as I did make a bike trip (something like 10 km from my home as crow flies, but sadly the route is bit longer when you follow roads and pathways, especially when you get somewhat lost and decide to take the muddy path on edges of fields) to Pitkäkoski to spot a kingfisher seen there, but sadly I missed the bird as it was further up the river...

Bit over month ago, I had a chance to visit part of the city, where not that many have visited (yet): Vallisaari is the island east of Suomenlinna and until lately it was under military control, so it has been off limits for most civilians. Now, next year the island (and neighbouring Kuninkaansaari) will be under supervision of Metsähallitus (state-owned enterprise maintaining state-owned forests and national parks and few other similar recreational areas) and open for everybody.
The island has interesting mix of wild nature and military history with oldest buildings dating back to the days of when Grand Duchy of Finland was part of Russian Empire.

    1. In center of the island there is a small lake

    2. One of the bunkers

    3. Stairwell to a bunker (different than the above if I remember right)

    4. Alexander Battery

    5. Building number 33

    6. A view from the western cliffs towards Kuninkaansaari
