Show us... Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Show us cities of the world is your chance to show us where you live, or where you've been. Please feel free to share pictures from this location, or start a thread for a new location. The usual Dyxum content rules apply- but to assist fellow Dyxumers inspired to visit locations that are shown, please indicate where in your town/city the photos were taken.

This thread is open for C&C and for posting additional pictures. Please ONLY post pictures taken at the town or city indicated- or start a new thread.

If you wish to start a new location thread- please click 'quote' to this opening post, and copy the contents as opening text to your new thread 'show us place-name. Also post a message to the link at start of text- where I can add your location to a master list of hyperlinked locations.

Since my wife is from Luxembourg, and i lived three years in this country i guessed its time for me to start a "Show us" thread for its capital, Luxembourg City.

First its most important monument, the Monument of Remembrance (French: Monument du souvenir), usually known by the nickname of the Gëlle Fra (Luxembourgish for 'Golden Lady'), a war memorial.

The b&w Gelle Fra is particularly effective. Like the composition as well. TFS.

The Philharmonie, the concert hall on the Plateau de Kirchberg. A great example of modern architecture. Designed by Christian de Portzamparc and opened in 2005.:

Another one:

Non violence by Matt H. Imaging, on Flickr

Created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, ”Non Violence” represents a symbolic, yet meaningful attitude towards violence and crime. Outraged by the murder of his close friend John Lennon in 1980, Reuterswärd produced a sculpture that promotes tolerance and peace.
