Some photos taken on a recent visit to an apartment on the 61st storey of Eureka Tower, Melbourne's tallest building.
All with a900, and CZ16-35mm, Sigma 15mm fisheye, or SAL70200 G. EXIF embedded.

5. View of Melbourne on the Yarra from the 61st floor balcony. The Yarra river is sometimes disparagingly called the 'upside down river' because of its muddy surface colour. It is tidal and the mud gets stirred up with the tides.

Excellent work.

Your shot of the La Trobe Reading Room proves one thing that us Kiwis have believed for a long time -- not many Australians can read.

Wow, such a nice place Melbourne looks, warm and clean, well apart from the alley images but they add character.

The State Library of Victoria is celebrating its centenary this year.
The great domed La Trobe Reading Room is one of the finest you would find anywhere in the world, and has been the site where some of Australia's greatest writers and artists found inspiration since its opening in 1913, not to mention countless generations of school and university students myself included.
This reading room which was once a very crowded space supervised by a strict librarian seated in the raised hub who would come down to shush any noise, is now a rather quieter place, as most of the study is done on banks of computers located elsewhere in the library.
Here are some photos - cameras, lenses and EXIF as noted.

1. Public art - 'the sunken library'. A basalt sculpture replica of a corner of the neo-classical facade, set into the pavement outside the main entry.
