@ Pirate: seems you're enjoying your trip very well. Did you already pick up your new lens(es)? Especially like the sculture/scraper shot and the pano. Is it a pano from multiple shots or just a severe crop of a WA shot.

@ J_P_P: First of all my compliments to the nice series. The shot with the billboard of the flashy girl and the non-flashy people in front is my favourite. Very well spotted !

Other thing i noticed is that when you are travelling (maybe some of this things happen to you a lot) and are a turist, is that you can't spend a lot of time Shoting Photographs or you will miss the "Turist" bit.
This happens to you, speacilly when you travel with Girlfriends or Family ?

Agree you need to balance. When making city trips I have the good fortune my wife and two daughters like to shop around a bit in large stores. My son and I stay outside and take some pictures. I'm trying to be concious (and not always successfull) to make sure the capturing and registration of the environment doesn't get more important then just enjoying it.

That's why i am gonna go to a couple(3) Workshops "Introduction to Digital Phototography" about Composing, Technice and Photoshop (a Total of 75 Hours for the 3 WShops), because i really begin to notice that i 'd like some feedback like "Stop doing this...do it that way...This is good...this is bad" and some theoritcal and pratical notions of what i am doing.

Great idea and you'll learn a lot. Make sure you don't lose your natural eye and only start following the "rules" that might be taught there.

@Pegelli

These were taken last year with A100 + f/1.7 50mm, Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro and SAL 18-70mm. The pano shot is a series I took and stitched them to create the image, then cropped top/bottom. Will be getting new glass in 3 weeks when in FLA.

Having visited New York three weeks ago I like to add some of my pictures to this thread: to start with a perhaps not so common sight: Broadway without traffic and people sitting on chairs on the road:

I can't offer you much in the way of a profound critique but I know what I like when I see it, and there's a lot in your flickr site that I do like .

Wanna see more!
