During the summer Old Orchard Beach - located between Saco and Portland - is a stop of the Amtrak train connecting Boston with Brunswick. It is one of the rare places in the U.S. where you can find a pier (and an amusement park nearby) which gives it a kind of British feeling (but only for a moment).

Apologies for the use of an IR-converted camera.

Harald,
Great set, and no need to apologise for the IR.
Love the typical New England weatherboard buildings with their shingle roofs, and the pier looks like it's caught in an early to mid 20th century time warp.
Don't know whether you have manipulated the colour cast but it seems to hark back to the old Kodachrome look.
Really like them all, but if I had to pick favourites they would be ##5, 6, 8 and 12.
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice set indeed. My choice would be the pier. TFS Harald

Great set Harald. The coloured shots have an 'old' feel about them which I like very much. My favourites are 4, 6 and 12.
