Across the Seine from the BnF, is Parc du Bercy, also created by Mitterand from what had once been a large complex including vineyards and a commercial wine distribution centre.

Nice series of happy snaps Joe. For me a mixture of pictures bringing back some very old memories from my youth (like ## 17 and 20) and views of some less familiar parts of the city I haven't seen before (like #30)

I hope you're still with me for the last part

We stayed in the Montparnasse tower to see the city in the dark from there. Did not regret that at all.

A great set, Fred! Can anyone rock up to floor 59 of the Montparnasse Tower at dusk, or do you have to be a guest of a hotel?

Thanks Howard! Anyone can go up after buying a ticket. You can buy 'day and night' ticket to go up twice, but if you but a day ticket just before dawn, you need only one and stay a bit longer (which is cheaper).
You go up to the 56th with an elevator and you can go up further to the open 59th deck by climbing some stairs.
