When I registered here someone said they look forward to seeing some pics of Scotland ,well....... I went to Portpatrick today . A village on the south west coast of scotland . Its main source of income used to be fishing however like most other fishing poorts in Scotland the fishing done from there is now very little . Portpatrick's main industry is now tourism .
I wasn't there long but snapped these three .

please c/c

Oh and on the way we passed through Dunure. Another ex-fishing village but much smaller than Portpatrick.
we only stopped there for 10 mins.....

Hmmn -- pBase is very slow at the moment -- the one shot of a tower I can see looks very good.

Edit: good semi-silhouette of "the flag".

They progressively appeared and like the village shot a lot but think its a tad down on one side.

Colours seem to have come out well for such an overcast day.

Nice to see these - I will be going up to my other home in the Machars in a couple of weeks, and will almost certainly get over to Portpatrick during my stay...

...I actually envy you the cloudy weather - when I was there last September it was too bright and tended to 'wash-out' the colours of the houses and boats - and there were an awful lot more cars & people there as well!

...interesting perspective on the lighthouse - makes it look much bigger.

Cheers

Well, got across to Portpatrick the other day - but sunshine and blue skies again! [LOL] - anyway, it was late afternoon so the light was a little kinder than when I was there last...

I took several from the same viewpoint and they all suffered from a similar appearance - I think it's an optical illusion resulting from the harbour both curving round and away [LtoR] - here's my closest to yours:

which was actually one of a series for a pano attempt - unfortunately, I stupidly forgot to remove the polariser - DOH!:

...about an hour or so before getting there I was 15 miles or so away at Glenluce abbey - couldn't believe the difference in the skies [okay - I've rather "overcooked" the HDR-ToneMapping, but the B&W shot is almost unaltered]:

...been blue skies most of the time for the past week, but wether it'll continue is another matter!

Cheers
