Here it is in dock at Hobart in 2012.
'Aurora Australis', Hobart by Joe Lewit, on Flickr

After 150 trips to and from Antarctica since its launch in 1989, it is currently on its way to Dubai for a refit before being sold.
The arrival of the Nuyina (Aboriginal word for Southern Lights) in late October 2021 is eagerly awaited.

(but then haven't given it much thought ). looked like an odd model.

I agree the yellow makes it look cheap . I have a black one wrapped around my A7R2, just gives me a bit more grip and protects against paint wear at the edges. Not sure if it can bounce, I haven't tested that yet However, the A7r2 can bounce without the silicon cover. I have tested that , Domien can confirm that..

NO! so you made sure it can bounce prior to buying it a bouncy cover?
you are brave, Fred!

TYSM, Joe! glad you posted this beautiful pic! (and now they are both on 1 page).
I knew Nuyina was important, but had no idea an entire nation was eagerly looking out for its arrival.

(massive crop)

checked again- passed South-Africa, last position dates from 8 days ago?
since you've been 'everywhere', it shouldn't surprise me you visited Hobart as well, but it still seems special you're able to come up with this pic!

heading for home...

...and she'd sing for you?
(mány trick pony!)

today is the most important day -dutch- of the Coastal Marathon Zeeland . they had to wait 2 years for this.

the other side of Walcheren...

east of the Walcheren canal

(en route)

a donkey's got to do what a donkey's got to do?

crossing the bridge...

this road presumably has the most innovative name ever.

it's called 'Road from Middelburg to Kleverskerke'

at Kleverskerke continuing as 'Road from Kleverskerke to Veere' (lol)

nevertheless glad we're still able to drive here!
but that's another strange story.

Since these have curved beaks: curlews. Godwits would have more straight beaks.

Yes!!!!

Finally. I've been waiting for this release for a long time. As a born and bred Vlissinger living in New Zealand this is pretty damn exciting.
(Although it's 6.30 am on Friday here and it's not available yet, what's going on Netflix ?? )

Thanks to all those who have posted photos, it adds nicely to the excitement and anticipation.
