 2021- Koudekerke - #sunflower fields forever! (no PW  )the BIG 2 + 1! and tourists...  humpback WHALE at the Walcheren coast + video ! YESTERDAY @ Westkapelle yesterday morning 2 men from Weskappel were in an inflatable rubber boat at sea, fishing, when they heard a whale exhale. they followed the sound, and the whale came closer. and leapt...  one of them had been on a whale safari on Iceland once, but seen none, and was over the moon to find one in his "own backyard". https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2022/05/humpback-whale-filmed-jumping-near-the-zeeland-coast/ |

great Leo!  (the pic). is the dove still there?  (breeding Eurasian dove > protected! > do not disturb, go away! hehe discovered only minutes before knocking the building down!). a few years back a Flushing buzzard stopped the dutch army! i.e. the marines from invading Vlissingen. (not that they were eager to do so). protected bird -d- refused to leave -its nest in- a tree, tree couldn't be cut down, (even had to be supported since all of its colleague trees around it had been cut down), 'thus'... roundabout + road to the -yet to be built- army barracks couldn't be constructed!  wat-gebeurt-er-toch-allemaal-aan-het-eind-van-de-A58?  2017- war zone! the army was coming... (of course I also shot the bird-nest-tree + all of the turmoil) but in the end the marines stayed where they were, yayyy! Everybody relieved and very happy!  for a short while ...before we knew what was next: megalomaniac plans for 'Law Delta' aka an -extreme!- high security penitentiary institution + a bunker courthouse -d- for heavy serieus criminals / terrorists only, in lovely rural Ritthem.  yet commonly known as Alcatraz @ sea -d-. so much for Flushing's reputation! bet tourists will 'love' it too. as we don't. THX? -d-. Vlissingen needs MORE BIRDS !!!  Veere 2019 everybody waiting for the Veere - Kamperland ferry  that one  (er han et in sich)  Köln!  (Schiff kütt) |

Another great bird story, thanks Ine! I think the dove and the little ones are taking their time, and I'm glad they are because it gave me time to make this shot.
