Looks so peaceful! Did Covid change the scene?

Thanks Wang, I don't think Covid had an influence as it is an old shot from 2010. It was just a very quiet and dull (weather/light wise) mondaymorning.

On an intersection in Melbourne's Southbank in the Arts precinct, stands the bright yellow 'Vault', a sculpture by Ron Robertson-Swann that was commissioned in 1978 and first installed in an early version of Melbourne's City Square in 1980.
It was quickly nick-named "The Yellow Peril" and was soon graffiti'ed and disparaged. Within a year it was removed to a less prominent location in Batman Park, and then in 2002 it was installed here in the Arts precinct near the Centre for Contemporary Arts, the rusty building in the background. Behind it looms the exhaust stack from the underground CityLink Burnley Tunnel that has been made into a sculptural feature, but in reality discharges vehicle exhaust fumes from the high traffic underground thoroughfare. The Vault and the Stack by Joe Lewit, on Flickr a99ii and CZ 24-70 f2.8 Vario-Sonnar. |
