Thank you Michele. Yes, my wonderful daughter. She actually sent the digitized photo to me about 5 years ago. She had never seen the coming off the boat picture before and loved seeing the grandparents. The reason she is in America.

When was this taken? Could have been a Minolta as they made Minolta cameras since 1933 - but unlikely this was a Minolta. But in the 50's they made rangefinders and TLR's

Yes addy your right. Thats our man. For a regular, journeyman photographer he did what was asked of him. I keep marveling how in the gangplank photo we are perfectly spaced out and faces are all visible. What's the odd's on that?

Looks like we have more in common that just our names, like 3 years old, coming to the New World by ship and now we find ourselves chatting in Dyxum.

Interesting. my parents never mentioned this photoshoot, or showed me any pictures except the text book with the us and the Statue of Liberty photo. That photo is forever etched into my mind it was so dramatic.
I guess they were working hard on getting on in the New World.

I saw your post and I wondered what relevance does the photographer have to the photo or the people in the photo. Than looked deeper in your post and saw how much info there is even on a "no-name" guy like Grundy and did my search and came up with this treasure of a photo.

Thanks Mestari, Surprisingly We don't have a print. My folks never even mentioned the photoshoot. My guess is they were too busy getting on with their life in the New World and probably forgot all about it 🤷‍♂️

Thank you Harald, One never knows what's around the next corner. Which is one of the main motivating factors for all the photo adventures I go on.

I think you're right Michel. Migration in an international forum like ours is particularly poignant, where members themselves have migrated or have friends or family that have and tons of photo documents

First I think thats a suckers price. Not even realistic (no offense, just my thoughts) and I actually have a lot of baby and family photos of us taken in Germany. I think I will leave that up to my daughter or buy it for her if she wants it. Although she is a Silicon Valley girl, a lot richer than I.

If I could come up with that Statue of Liberty photo that has a good chance 😉
