I am using AVS4you. It is not freeware but offers an attractive lifetime subscription for a suite of programs including (ir-)regular updates. It lacks a program to do batch processing on pictures, and is not nearly as complete and flexible as GIMP, but much easier to use for occasional users |

I've been working on trying to post in the correct forum. I saw that photos cape was mentioned here.
This is an FYI. I got an in-house app update notice from Apple, an update that dll automatically if you are on auto upload. In other words you don't have to go apple store to get the download. I assume Apple only does this for apps it considers quite significant. PhotoScape X 2.7.1 photo editor, http://x.photoscape.org Apple just recently came out w a whole new photo editor, went from iPhoto to the new "Photo" which was a totally different layout. I opened photo scape and it looks user friendly and pretty complete. I hate post processing. Its so time consuming, it takes time away from actual photography and I'm not really good at it. I'm always looking for user friendly, easier tools. It looks like I'll be using it. Also: Its free and available in windows. Does anyone have experience w photo scape. I've never heard of it, but that doesn't mean anything I've also been wondering if I'm the only one in Dyxum running Mac. I Love my Mac, its the most problem free anything I've ever had. thanks___________Coast! Edited by Coast - 18 January 2018 at 08:59 |

For 90% of editing I have used FastStone for nearly 10 years. It is a free download, surprisingly good at what it offers.
For more taxing edits I use PS Elements 2, very old but very efficient, with some bits and pieces now discarded by PS. I also have PS5 but never use it. |
