Challenge Your Creativity
February 2021
Voting Thread

This is the voting thread for the exhibition.
Please use this thread to vote for your two favorite entries from each participant (including yourself!) who has 3 or more photos in the CYC 2021 Thumbnail Thread!

To keep things simple, lets stick to the main 7 photos, feel free to comment on the outtakes for those who have posted thumbnails of them.

However, there aren't too many of us. So lets each pick a Best Pic for 3 points and a second best for 1 point. (A bit like in a Dxyum photo contests)

So, the format will be: (for example)
@@mikey2000: 3pts: (then add the photo number for "best in set")
@@mikey2000: 1pt: (add the photo number for "runner up")
@@Comments:

Feel free to add comments as well, but please keep to the format to make counting easier. Also, please do not use this thread to reply to comments! For replying to comments please use the [URLh=ttps://www.dyxum.com/dforum/topic139228_post1640789.html]CYC20201 Talk Thread[/URL].

What should you do now?
1) Go to the 2021 Thumbnail thread.
2) For each participant that has pick the two you
3) Give them 3 points or 1 point accordingly.
4) Post your voting here. Please use the format (you can use the next post as a template):
5) Feel free to add comments, but please keep the format!
6) Feel free to reply to the comments people give you, but please do it in the Talk Thread.
7) Have fun!

Thank you for voting!

@@LAbernethy: 3pts: 7

@@mikey2000: 3pts: 3
@@mikey2000: 1pt: 6
Comments: You managed a very creative set, with #3 looking particularly like an album cover (as others have remarked), and #6 as well would make a great cover.

@@Phil Wood: 3pts: 4
@@Phil Wood: 1pt: 6
Comments: I liked #4 the best for the way the face appears surprisingly in the sky -- #6 I like because of the composition and something about the juxtaposition of the head against the houses in the background (something about the organic shapes of the human head contrasting with the artificial shapes of the buildings strikes me, I think).

@@Howard_S: 3pts: 4
@@Howard_S: 1pt: 5
Comments: I liked #4 as the most creative of the set, had a hard time deciding the runner up -- but the colors and the organic nature of the bowl seemed to fit nicely in the outdoors in #5.

@@addy landzaat: 3pts: 5
@@addy landzaat: 1pt: 3
Comments: I like #5 for the detailed look at the hands, and the bokeh, and I like #3 for the strong mood evoked by the blue dark sky in contrast with the sign and the lit-up building. I also liked #7.

@@Fred_S: 3pts: 3
@@Fred_S: 1pt: xx
Comments: I liked #3 the best, though I think there's a tiny bit too much background on the right (facing), making it unbalanced with the left (could stand to be cropped) -- still, the mix of the powerful highlights in the water funnel with blurry background and the top and bottom of the bottle cut off, makes for a striking image.

@@dCap: 3pts: 7
@@dCap: 1pt: 3
Comments: #7 because all the elements are there for me (the slanting lines of the wood floor/table, the shallow DOF, the just-right B&W tones, the overall composition). #3 because it is saying something.

@@alanfrombangor: 3pts: 4
@@alanfrombangor: 1pt: 3
Comments: So far as an abstract with a human element goes, I actually like #4 better than, for example, #7 -- something particularly melancholy about seeing just the hands. #3 I like just because I'm a sucker for detail shots.

I think we are all done!

I'll count up over the weekend. Actually, it might be early next week. I've got a fairly hectic weekend lined up...
