Thanks for starting this theme Rob, and very good first set.
Especially like #1 and 4. Nice compositions with the geometric shapes of the robes. 2 is nice as well, but the cut off hand and flag is slightly disturbing. Also like the facial expression of the horse in 5 a lot (actually the human in the horse) Michael, especially like your second one, allthough a tad wider framing would have made it even better. I know where you're coming from in the first, but personally I'd rather see the dancing blonde in focus vs. the grumpy old wallflower in the back ![]() I've got some more at home that I need to PP, but here are three from an experimental open air dance festival that I posted before: ![]() ![]() ![]() all 3 A700 + 80-200 HS G Edited by pegelli - 08 July 2009 at 07:40 |

Thanks for posting common, reminded me I had promised to PP a few more and post, but had totally forgotten about it
![]() First one is an awesome pose, well captured. The second one is nice as well, but there the background distracts a bit, while in the first one the background people are nicely lined up in the composition and it reinforces the general amazement of what the guy is doing. |

Great shots Pavel. It's amazing what the people of Africa have to offer in a great spiritual dance culture.
EDIT: Only saw your series after I posted Mike, very nice and colorful reportage. Especially like the one shot with only the feet and socks. Well spotted that one! Here's something closer to (my) home. A group called L-contempo from Antwerp with a work called "borderline" by Lily Ann Suys, which they performed at Dance.Impact 2009. This was the finals for "Belgian Ambassadors of Modern Dance 2009", which they didn't win, but all 7 finalists had cracking performances. "Sequence": ![]() ![]() ![]() All 3 A700 + 85/1.4G @ f3.2 and ISO 2000 I've grown very fond of this series, so would like C&C very much as I'm afraid I'm too emotionally attached by the whole atmosphere of this fantastic dance evening. Some stunning work going on here. Glad I decided to turn my first post into a Theme instead of another OV thread.
Here's another from a few weeks ago, a young one that surely loves her polka. ![]() |
