Would be a petty, I extended my range significantly during last year. However I understand you can't run such a challenge for a handful of people. Should we do a poll to see who is interested to join the party?

We need a 2018 Day Prime thread then?

I could try a fisheye converter on the 6.5mm F2 fisheye. That should be 4mm. I suppose I could hold the combination in front of the rear focal reducer. That would result in about 3 mm total.

Ine, I don't 'do' people a lot, and when I do it's candids. Sometimes people notice and then my smile is a powerful tool :-)). I always offer to send them the photo(s) or delete them if they wish. On the whole my experience is that people are OK with my taking photos of them.

Children are a different matter. It's a nono unless the parents are asked beforehand.

I do get into 'trouble' when I make photos of objects that are generally considered to be void of any photogenic quality: rusty things, decay in general, shopping carts, details of bicycles, benches, ashtrays on tables, fences, hothouses, objects and shadows ... Seeing the photogenic in unphotogenic objects is about 90% of my photography so I get into trouble a lot, especially when these objects belong to someone and the owner happens to see me. They are invariably suspicious and always ask: what are you doing?

I have learnt that the right answer to this question is: I'm taking a photo. With the difficult part out of the way I show them my photo and say that photography is my hobby and I like to make strange photos. I also offer to send them the photos but, no that won't be necessary, they were just checking ...

there are many little helpers these days, with 'handhaving' written all over them, and 'those are strong shoulders that can carry the wealth'? ;-)

obvious what those people were thinking? man, behaving suspiciously, snooping around, obv. trying to capture them in dubious ways inside their aquaria? in broad daylight!!

(are you sure you had every right btw? heard that even buildings could be copyrighted nowadays. by architects n such. (!)
besides, how many 'normal' healthy minded people do you know?
without any issues or claiming attention. or longing for 'power' n eager to use it?
it's obv. a hierarchy world. and THX to FB the me, me & myselfie greatestshowonearth is exposed more than ever. quite informative when you'd like to learn a thing or 2 about people?).

often wondered what you all were experiencing!!

as you know (or suspected ;-)), I'm a girl. still an advantage I'm afraid. therefore wondered more than once what you guys were experiencing?!!
(except for the amazing wonderland abroad when we were still sailing and what was once called 'creative photography', the 'impossible' stuff when it was a fact a photo never lied), my fave subjects always had eyes. animals or people.
but my people died n extremely hesitant to take other people's pics.
(esp. since I wouldn't want to be in any pic myself). and def. not trying to do what I dream about.

spent a summer practising to point my camera at people and the lensbaby was a great help since I knew those people would be beyond recognition anyway.
the effect was amazing!
for some mysterious reason, my camera seems to look 'real'.
(don't get it, since it's so much smaller than the other inflated? pro cameras? and just a little bigger than the A580).
so many people immediately put on a smile as soon as they spot the lens. and come up to me to ask if they will be in the paper or on the WWW or ? limelight luring? there were parents asking what I would charge for a pic n so on.

there were also angry people that came rushing up to me. esp. at the beach.
asking why I was taking pics of their children, WHAT I intended to use them for. even when I showed them I had a very wide lens attached and those children, I hadn't noticed yet, happened to be at least 60 meters away.
there was a lady in a swimming suit + towel who asked WHY I took her pic -with lensbaby-. I didn't. we all parted as 'friends', but still?

the carnival was in town, it was very crowded and I was standing at the Bellamypark changing some settings, when this lady almost attacked me and screamed she didn't want me to take pics of her daughter.
daughter? so I looked down, and damn, saw a child in a stroller.
I wasn't taking pics, I said. I was looking at the back of my camera. she didn't believe me. and I was gobsmacked.

deliberately tried to take a pic of 3 german toddlers, sitting on steps, eating icecream, very sweet. their parents were not amused.
we could take any pic with a long lens. but most of the time lenses are somewhat shorter. and as someone famous once said: <if your pics ain't good enough, you're not close enough!> thus ? :-S
admire you for your ability to sneak up on people and make your masterpieces, with them included.
last pic I posted was lousy. scenery + light were great, props were great, nice subjects. so eager to try that little lens on kids, but need to have the guts to come closer and try to take a 'decent' pic?

many parents have asked me not to take pics of their offspring.
to a certain extend I get it.
but what were they thinking?
as you all know and should know, they were thinking s.e.x.
whenever you see another human being, esp. a child, s.e.x. should be on your mind. even as parents. it's so sickening?!!   

friends of mine didn't dare to take their son's very 1st bath pics. they were afraid they would be arrested or something when that roll of film w/b developed (he's 18 now).
my best friend's father used to take his grandchildren to the beach. both still very young, but at a certain point he would still get his grandson out of his wet swim shorts and rub the sand off, but would throw his very young granddaughter into his car, still wet and covered in sand, because he was afraid to get into 'trouble' otherwise.
so even as (grand)parents you need to 'go there'. how sick is that?
same (girl)friend is now working at a daycare center. changing diapers has become a huge thing. and cameras all over the place.

can anyone relate to this? or still happily shooting, no frustrations whatsoever?
