Day Prime 2017

The challenge is to use as many of your lenses as possible in 2017

The idea of this challenge is inspired by Week 50, in which participants shoot with a 50mm lens for the 50th week of the year. The Challenge of Day Prime is to post pictures taken on the appropriate day for the lens - hence shots with a 16mm taken on 16 January, 28mm on 28 January and so on (after January it becomes more difficult but see the next post). It is called a challenge, but it's very easy going:

Rules:

You can use any prime lens you like
You can use any zoom lens you like, but you can only use the zoom ends
Adapters and converters that change the FL of the lens are not allowed except for teleconverters for FLs of 135mm and more
You are free to use A-mount and E-mount cameras
You can post as many photos as you like on the appropriate day
You can only post the photos that were taken on that day
Cropping is allowed, but the photo should reflect the focal length of the lens
Have fun!

Further notes:
Please add EXIF data: camera used, lens used, aperture, exposure, iso
You don't have to sign up: just post your photos on the appropriate day
You can't drop out of this challenge: you decide on the days you want to participate: the challenge is to participate on as many days as you can
It would be nice if you post your better shots also in the Sample Images subforum (for A- and E-mount lenses) or go here for samples with non-native lenses

There are 3 threads in Day Prime Challenge:

- this thread is for photos and talk (commenting on each other's contributions is encouraged and appreciated)
- a thread for the Thumbnails that all participants can (and are encouraged to) post of their photos linked to the posts containing the originals
- and a thread for outtakes aka The Training Centre

This challenge is for everyone! Everyone will learn something and everyone can enjoy it.
If you have not joined before and do not fully understand the guidelines, do not worry. Just start posting and ask as many questions as you want.

Here's a list of Part One of Day Prime 2017.
It's a long list but more DPDs are always welcome so please let me know if I missed a day!

Please study the list carefully (don't forget your zoom ends like I always do ...) and make a note of the days you are going to participate.

The 'Page' column gives the page numbers where you can find the contributions of the Day Prime Day in question (look for the RED Day numbers).

Fortunately I don have to wait until day 16 to start this year's episode as I have acquired day 10 and 12 capabilities. After day 16 and 20 I'll have to travel (for business) to a not so incredible part of India and will miss day 24/28/29/30/32/35/38 and 40. Somehow I'll give them a go when I'm back (I am not travelling with loads of gear and PP capabilities) and post in the training thread.

You have to post the day the picture is shot only?
Depending on future business trips that may rarely be possible for me...

(though tbh I don't have that many lenses to use anyway )

Leo, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the day prime shots need to be taken on the right day, but can be posted up-to a few days later.

Only problem is that then the focal length can get mangled a bit, so if you're on a longer trip it might actually be better to put a placeholder post in there on the right day and then "edit" that post when you're home and have time for PP, uploading the file and putting in the right post.

I can't imagine any part of India that wouldn't be of some sort of photographic interest, but I can easily understand not having time when there on business. In any case, some interesting travel for sure.

No, you can post later too. No problem.
But the photo must be made on the day itself. So a Day 16 shot must be taken on January 16 with a 16mm.

Ok cool thanks for the clarification.

Would it be possible to add 150 & 200 to the list ?
(some may do 210 & 300 also I guess ?)

(I need to get my beercan back...)

Do the Sony wide converters count? I have both the 10 mm fisheye and 12 mm ultra wide for the E mount 16 mm F2.8 pancake lens.

Yes, 'native' Sony converters for specific lenses are ok. Hope to see your work on Days 10, 12 and 16.
