Andy, nice shots, great detail on the two macro's and the third is a nice tranquil scene.

31/03 is the right week for a 90 mm prime, so if you want I can move the post to the day prime thread instead of here in the training.

And indeed we didn't make a training thread for April Foolishness, these training threads were used so sparingly during the last couple of challenges that we didn't bother, probably a wrong decision

As for the training thread, I have to admit that in my two previous challenges (Oktoberfest and Week 50 last year), I don't think I used them, so I can understand there not being one this time around.

Found a cheap 125 mm zoom end for day 125 that is actually of very good quality. Well, SMC Takumars generally are very good. Push-pull internal zoom, rotating front element.

Swing time

Camera Model: ILCE-7RM4
Lens: SMC Takumar-zoom 1:4/45-125
Focal length: 125 mm
Aperture: f/4
Exposure Time: 0.002 sec (1/640)
ISO: 100

Perhaps worth examining the 45 mm end as well, although 125/4 is reasonably fast and 45/4 is dead slow.

I managed to get my Konishiroku Hexanon 47mm/f1.9 from Konica Auto-S working.
So here is an early training for Day 47 2022

As warned by Paul, it was a difficult surgery, which ended in a lens that only can be used wide open, but I don't see that as a huge problem, since I think the bokeh has potential

Yes, great potential Fred. Wide open very nice lens. When I still had a working aperture it proved superior sharpness at f/8. Alas, that was lost. I have a second copy to operate on, see if I can get the aperture to work.

They aren't heavily used, so you could just have one training thread for all challenges in the year eg 2021 Challenge Training.

This one came too late for day 110: Emil Busch A.-G. Rathenow Neokino 62.5/110 mm. It is a massive 62.5 mm diameter cinema projection lens. Rathenau, like Goerlitz, was a center of camera and lens industry. After the war Rathenau was in the DDR and the company became Rathenauer Optische Werke (ROW), was later merged into Pentacon and it went downhill after that. I was in Rathenau in the 1990s for work and the place was littered with derelict industrial buildings, all very sad. Anyway, I Frankensteined the lens onto a helicoid for now and ordered a more suitable adapter. As the adapter was not so cheap I though I should buy more 62.5 mm lenses (FL of 80 and 95). For now, the 110. Petzval lens, swirly when camera to subject and camera to background distance is adequately selected. Obviously it would be more swirly if the camera sensor would be bigger, this large diameter lens would be good for medium format cameras and would then reveal more of its optical flaws that we like to exploit:

A typical property of Petzval lenses is field curvature.... Makes you wonder how you can project film of a flat surface.

I didn't do a Self Portrait Thursday last week for Week 135 so I tried today ... I didn't intend it to be Scary Self Portrait Thursday! And I'm not gonna post the reeeeeeaaaaallllllllyyyyyy scary ones (until Halloween maybe)

Slow Sync flash from 20AM flash on cam at the beginning of the exposure, then I moved
10 second timer, I used HDMI out to a monitor so I could position myself
Manual Focus at about 1m/3ft
Natural light ISO50

at f5.6 I didn't have a good take where both sides had a good pose, so I ended up making a composite anyway (instead of in-camera as I intended); also I did not intend to spend two hours on this LOL
