I like these photos from Rokkor 200/2.8
How does the Rokkor 200/2.8 compare to the Minolta AF 200/2.8?
Sony A99II with Sony, Minolta, Sigma, Tamron A lenses, Sony A7R with Minolta MD lenses, Sony A6400 with Sony E lenses.

Today we started week 30, for focal length between 207 and 213 mm.

Let's see if we can keep up some of the energy that we saw last week.

Maybe two zoom ends for me but not sure I have much time for photography this week and the weather isn't co÷perating either, but I'll do my best

That's one for me also, and if I'm really courageous I also have an old Tamron Adaptel 80-210/3.8-4 that could come out and do duty.

Evening All
Been "off" taking & posting pictures for a few weeks, don't know why but noticed last week was a week with 200 in & thought I'd better get to work - that was Friday, so here are the fruits of my labours !
The first few with the A57 + Minolta 35-200 Xi, a lens I love but alas with a broken diaphragm spring at the moment so all wide open (f5.6)!!
#1 Crabbers

#2 Following Instructions
Day 200 Small_7 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
#3 The ivy alwaya wins !
Day 200 Small_6 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
#4 Handle 1
Day 200 Small_4 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
Handle 2 is in the B&W section
The next two are with an old FD mount Tamron 50-200 & dumb adaptor at f8 if I recall correctly
#5 Agapantha Luminosis
Day 200 Small_3 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
#6 BottleBrush plant after a shower.
Day 200 Small_2 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
then we switch to the excellent Canon 70-200 f4, again at about f8 for a compare & contrast shot of the bottle brush bush
#7 Bottle Brush Canon style
Day 200 Small by qwerkypics, on Flickr
and lastly, on a lighter note we have a 'nature' shot entitled
Too Many Legs
Day 200 Small_9 by qwerkypics, on Flickr
The Tamron & Canon pics were taken on my A7M2 via a dumb adaptor.
Hope you enjoy these and will, probably be back next week with some BeerCan and Tamron shots.
Good shooting !
Richard

How does the Rokkor 200/2.8 compare to the Minolta AF 200/2.8?
Apart from the obvious, manual focus vs. AF , there's nearly no big difference in the detail resolution between the MD Rokkor 200/2.8 and the AF 200/2.8 APO G. But the manual Rokkor shows more pronounced lateral and longitudinal CAs which of course is much better corrected on the later AF APO lens.
An alternative is the MD Rokkor 200/4 which is smaller and lighter, but with similar excellent optical performance already wide open (@F4 that is).
/Michael

Today I used my Tamron 80-210/3.8-4 Adaptall 2 lens, This was my longest lens in the film days and was extensively used on my OM cameras. Biggest advantage at the time is that at 210 mm it focussed to 1:2.8, so it doubled as my "poor man's macro" as well. So it's in that "mode" I used it today as well

210-5: Two coloured fungus

210-6: Thistles

210-7: Bee on an Echinacea I

210-8: Bee on Echinacea II

All A7ii + Tamron 80-210/3.8-4 Adaptall 2 @ 210 mm

Some fine 210mm shots here!
Nothing but a desperate shot from me with the Coslinar 3.5/85-210mm MD mount on A7R2 (sold my beercan a few years ago).

(And I forgot about the option of 150mm + 1.4xTC )
