Day 25:

I was unsure if I managed to properly use my now sole 25 mm lens today (or perhaps even any other day this week), but alas, today was a nice sunny day and I managed to find decent photo subject. I admit that did bend the challenge rules tiny bit and did some minor cropping, but given getting decent, sharp images with this lens is sufficiently challenging, I think bending the rules a bit is acceptable. I guess with focus stacking I could get even better pictures, but I don't think my hand-held shot series will stack that well, so I will leave testing that later and just now present some single shots...

HK25.1 Snow crystals

α7R III + LAOWA 25 mm F2.8 Ultra Macro 2.5-5.0X @ 25 mm, f/5.6?, 1/200 s, ISO 500, 5× magnification

HK25.2 Snow crystals

α7R III + LAOWA 25 mm F2.8 Ultra Macro 2.5-5.0X @ 25 mm, f/5.6?, 1/200 s, ISO 500, 5× magnification

Sort of. It can be frustrating to master (high magnification only, short and fixed focusing distance, shallow depth of field) and there is no electronic contacts (no EXIF etc.) nor standard filter thread for easy macro light attachment, but boy, you can get truely unique views with the high magnification! And it is fairly small and light lens, also quite affordable one.

Amazing those snow crystals

My first lens for the week, from a walk on the domain of castle Vrieselhof in Oelegem

24-1: Horseback riders, when we saw later we noticed they were police officers, quite a good way to spend your shift patrolling through a nice and quiet area like this.

24-2: Castle Vrieselhof

Both A7ii + LA-EA4 + Min 24/2.8 RS
You can see the April Foolishness 2023 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum

Somewhat less exotic photo subject today...

HK24.1 Fire

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.4/24 GM @ 24 mm, f/1.4, 1/125 s, ISO 200

HK24.2 Embers

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.4/24 GM @ 24 mm, f/1.4, 1/40 s, ISO 200, crop to 16:9 aspect ratio

Worth a mention that these were shot thru the glass that covers the fireplace and the glass is somewhat dirty (from soot etc.) and in the latter situation there was reflections...
