Hard to find lens, fairly rare. Made for Robot cameras, 24x24 or 18x24 tops. Still, with a nice vignette and lots of field curvature it covers the FF sensor in a charming way. Meyer Görlitz Robot Primotar 1:3.5 F=3cm (approximately 1936).

30.1: Winding water

30.2: Old crane

30.3: Reflections

30.4: No entry

30.5: Fence (a demonstration of field curvature)

A nice old Meyer, nothing exotic. Meyer-Optik Görlitz 1Q Lydith 3.5/30 (M42). Last year the Helleborus was very early. This year even earlier.

30.6: Helleborus orientalis

30.7: Helleborus niger

A big day 35 with a 16mm projection Meyer from the 30s, one MC and one MD Minolta and one Minolta with AF.

Lets start with Hugo Meyer & Co. Görlitz Kinon III f=3.5 cm. I cut the barrel as the highly recessed front element was suffering from vignetting (the difference in field of view between 16mm film and APSC is just too much). A great deal of field curvature outside the area of intended use leads to swirlyness.

35.1: Laurentius (field curvature)

35.2: Luma (enough swirl?)

35.3: Le Centaure

35.4: Keep moving forward

35.5: X marks the spot

35.6: A basket case

Minolta MC W.Rokkor-HH 1:1.8 f=35mm. It weighs a ton. The mind boggles why Minolta dropped this wonderful design, I love it. Possibly dropped because they came up with the AF 35/1.4 and the AF 35/2 was the cheap option. One day I'll buy a 35/1.4, I fear.

35.7: Where bicycles go to die

35.8: Van Kemal

35.9: We've got talent

35.10: Lone fisherman in Rotterdam

35.11: Gate defies welcome

35.12: Bollard bokeh

35.13: Benches

35.14: Seats

35.15: Bold statement

Minolta Shift CA 35MM 1:2.8. It was the same case as the Minolta RF250. You know it exists, you want it but not enough to go digging in your deepest pockets. Until opportunity presents itself. No that is not right, until you let opportunity present itself. It is a disease. I've been told that all men suffer from some sort of hoarding syndrome, be it stamps or comics or.... Well, better be lenses.

Back to the lens. I am mesmerized by the whole concept of shift lenses. The mechanics of it is so great. Keep the camera level and shift until composition is made. Focus, set aperture to f/8, snap. The opposite of point and shoot.

35.16: Rotterdam, The White House

35.17: Words

35.18: Blaaktoren from the cube-houses

35.19: Stayokay

Maximum shift:

35.20: Rotterdam, Wijnhaven

As a panorama of three, easy stitching:

35.21: Rotterdam, Wijnhaven

35.22: Rotterdam, The Old Harbor

And last if not least of this binge Sunday. The Minolta AF 35mm 1:2. I bought it many years ago when I was not yet a lens hoarder and was still using analog cameras. With the 50mm 1:1.7 they were my collection of primes.

35.23: Take me anywhere

35.24: BOR BOR

35.25: Bollard bokeh

Perhaps not in the spirit of day prime, but nonetheless they are here. Stitchwork.

35.26: Rotterdam skyline

35.27: Rotterdam skyline

35.28: A cross-parker

Nice series from all lenses Paul, plenty of swirl with the first and that shift lens seems to work very well. I'm still looking to add the 35 mm OM Zuiko shift to my OM collection, but haven't found one yet, these photos tell me I really need one . 35.23 shows why I like my AF 35/2 so much and the panos are nice. I also throw a pano into day prime once in a while, I see it as another way to show how the lens can work.

Today we start a new week, with new chances. Week 6 with focal length from 37 to 43 mm. 3 lenses from me, one 37 and two 40's. I think I'll be able to use them all, weather forecast looks good the whole week.

Shift addiction! Now I know that Laowa has issued a 20 mm shift lens in FE mount (a much more practical lens than the 12 mm with 1.4X teleconverter/shift adapter, 17 mm is soooooo wide, the lens is soooo heavy) I'm sold!

The Mino 35/2 is indeed one of the real Minolta gems.
