Well I didn't hug it but I shot a photo of it's arms
It was just nice lighting with blue skies during the afternoon that my a300 rose up and snapped this all by itself.

I wondered the same thing, Paul. On closer inspection, the top picture is taken from just slightly closer to the tree, the clouds have moved just a fraction, and the processing gives slightly darker shadows.
