Klick-klack - this is probably so called "seeding tree" - it is to give seeds for young, regenrating forest.

Cekari - I love those scandinavian birches :D those muchrooms are called Fomes fomentarius

In October, at around 4 pm the shadows get longer and the light warmer which provides nice photo opportunities of trees with their autumn foliage

A lot of trees in this thread seem to be "hugged to death"

In the Botrange region of the High Fens in Belgium I saw this tree filled with Witch's brooms:



I doubt whether this can be considered huggable!

When I was taking these pictures, I really didnt know, what will appear in the computer. The weather was really bad, with clouds around, and heavy wind with icy dots. Freezing to be frozen. Now I would like to have panorama too. Elvis can tell you more
