I'm currently overloaded with work. Not much time to do any hobby. Plus the weather sucks, so no usual evening walks recently. Oh well!

But then I thought that maybe it would be nice to do some photography for a change? But not that digital snap'n'post. I mean real photography, i.e. taken on film. Why not give all those film bodies on my shelf some spin? Why not empty that shelf in the fridge to finally use all those outdated film rolls? Why not try that Pentacon Six I bought last year and got it serviced so it's fully operational?

Yeah! Time for another Dyxum One Third! In the end the last one was in 2015 (OMG, seems tha the time just flies).

So, who else is going to join me and prove that Film's Not Dead???

p.s.
Rules will follow in the second post below

[2017-08-01]
Dinosaur's Training Grounds are now open for your preliminary entries (e.g. test-driving your equipment or just warming-up for the challenge)

[2017-08-24]
I completely forgot to add a note that the main Film's Not Dead thread is open and waiting for photos and discussion
There is also a separate Thumbnails thread for a quick showcase of all photos.

What is Dyxum 1/3rd?
If you wonder what this challenge is about then it's simply about showing that film photography is not dead yet

Who
Any Dyxumer can join this challenge. Just subscribe in this very thread - as simple as that The list of participants will also be maintained in the post below.

When
The idea is to keep shooting film during three upcoming months - starting on August 15th and ending on November 15th.

Equipment
You can use any film camera and any lens you like (no matter what brand or format, e.g. medium or big) however we expect that you will use your alpha-mount (Minota AF) camera. You know, we are alpha-mount-dedicated forum in the end

So, let's apply this general rule: if you own alpha-mount film camera it should be the first one to shoot and post your results. Then you may move on to your other cameras. If you don't have any Dynax, Maxxum or Alpha film camera then well - just use what you have

Results
You are expected to deliver 1/3rd keepers from each roll of film and we expect you to show us exactly this 1/3rd. No more no less Yes, we realise that sometimes you may have full roll of keepers but, well, you have to narrow your selection down to 8 or 12 shots - depending on the roll (i.e. 24 or 36 frames). Especially for big format users: use the ceiling function, ceiling(numberofframes/3)

I'm sure you can do even now - just a matter of silvertape and remote release

I think you have quite a lot of choices: upper third, lower third, middle third, or the left, right and again - middle one

p.s.

As on previous occasions I'm no fan of "As on previous occasions we will keep all challenge in a single thread of discussion, i.e. all photos and discussion should be posted in this very thread." But as I was outvoted on previous occasions, I'll swallow my pride.

Count me in.

Addy, I'm happy to consider a different approach, but this may be a bit problematic. Let's see how many participants will appear

I've run four rolls of film through Dynax cameras this year, and I've just loaded a fifth (all different brands or speeds), so I guess I'm in too
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .
