Thanks Pirate.. Have you done this? That is, replacing the stock screen sheet with an aftermarket glass one? Thanks, Pete |

Pete -- I'm sure Pirate means using the inexpensive glass cover on top of the stock LCD cover. I have done this -- following Gary Friedman's recommendation -- on all my Sony bodies. For instance: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Pro+LCD+Screen+glass+Protector+GGS+Cover+for+Sony+A900&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Great "How To" guide at the top of the thread, btw. Thanks to the OP. |

Really like this! I've had the protective screen on mine since new, but I'm not a fan of the added bulk... Now I might be tempted to get rid of the protective screen! Thanks.

Has anyone replaced an OEM LCD Window with an aftermarket glass screen protector? I don't mean using the protector over the window, I mean using it in place of the window.
I ask because Sony wants about $50 for the parts to replace the LCD Window on my A900, and $65 to replace the LCD Window on my A700. That seems really steep in light of $5-$25 options from: GGS, GIOTTOS, FOTGA |

Hello,
that's interesting, thanks for posting! The only trouble is that I do not see the illustrating pictures, there are only exclamation marks... Best wishes, L |

The GGS, JYC and FOTGA screens are the exact same size as the OEM screen and as long as you remove all of the OEM screen adhesive, then the replacement version will pop right in as it has edge adhesive applied. It's a no-brainer for around GBP £1.50 delivered. |
