I'm afraid we saw far too many aircraft that I'm unfamiliar with, plus many that I am and a couple I have actually flown, so I'm not going to add aircraft names, marks and models, because I will probably get them wrong . So I hope you enjoy looking at them.

1. First, the required group shot. I'm sure you will recognise Bob J, I'm the other one:

2. The first hanger was stuffed to the rafters with wonderful machines:

3. There was a spitfire test running its fabulous Merlin engine at full chat:

4. And twin seaters returning with giant smiles on their faces:

5. Concorde cockpit:

6. By rights you shouldn't be able to see these:

7. In the 1980s I experienced what it is like in Pogo's seat, from Cyprus to Beirut and back in one of these Mk4 Phantoms:

8. And finally for this batch, some could land on water!

All photos taken with Sony a7iii and either Zeiss Batis 25f2 or 85f2.8

TFL

Edit: I hadn't realised my LR workflow included the (c) name . It won't be there for the next batch.

Great to see mini-meets starting up again, first the two Simons in Cornwall and now Bob and Brian in Duxford. Is there a requirement to have first names starting with the same letter to have a mini-meet?

Nice set Brian, that Pogo trip must have been something and the spitfires still look wonderful. I wish I could have joined, but it will be a few more month before unrestricted travel from the EU is possible to GB.

Looking forward to more

That hangar is packed to the rafters! Glad you had good weather, looking forward to more!

Looking at Bob's photo (B1) of me I can see why none of my photographs are ever sharp if that's how much I move my camera

Actually the US aerospace bit is probably slightly denser - we will get to those in time...

Looks like you both had a great day. Picks so have to be Brain's 4 and Bob's 3. Number 4 is a great shot, though probably could get away with a tighter crop. Number 3 is a great composition emphasising the shapes, shadows and tones.

Coincidence that after a few days Bob and I both refresh this thread within the hour! Dyxum life is a tad busy right now with B&W 1 week challenge on top of Photo 150, but there are so many good images from this great day it cannot be left to go stale

My second batch are from the second hanger we visited where much CLA was going on:
