So no real artistic shots from me, only one of the two shot i selected for printing. Not that I could win something, I had Jury Duty.

Wolfensteijn with the Sony 70-200/2.8 SSM G, a kind of inside joke from another forum were Wolfensteijn and I are also members of.

Looks like it was a great day guys! You have set the rest of us great example and hopefully other retailers in other regions will be interested in doing similar events...

OK, back again, but now with some comment on what we have done with the "Sony - stuff".

- camera + VC:
The A700 is (IMVHO) a really great camera when you are used to the Dynax 5D and the A100. Af is fast, VC is great to handle, the ergonomics look and feld good to me. Did I tell you it was fast!! So we now have a camera which we can use to shoot sports and moving things. The sound of the camera is also great, that shuttersound is just fine. I like the dots and knobs and stuff to tweak the camera and I found myself using them within a copple of minutes. (the A100 and 5D don't have this kind of knobs and buttons, so it feld good to me)

- the lenses:
Well a lot is sad (to Sony) about the high prices of the "better" lenses. (G en Zeiss) so I will not comment on that..that point is made to Sony !
I used a lot off different lenses on the A700, but also on my own A100. These are e few of my findings. The standard zooms/primes are doing OK, there's really nothing wrong with them within there field of use. The G lenses is something else. The 35G/1.4 wasn't so impressive to me (my 35/f2 isn't that bad at all!) The 300G and the 70-200 are super, but they cost to much (IMO), but did I tell that they are SUPER!
There were the "specials" like the 500/F8 and the 135STF. They were nice to use them, but not my goal.
But what really impressed me were the Zeiss lenses. Theo 16-80 is great I think, the 85 is a blast (but so is my Tam90), but the 135/1.8 Zeiss is the best lens I have used this day. It is my "want-to-have" lens for sure. It was great all the way, inside, outside, fast, sharp, colors ok (IMO).

So, what do I think?....I go for the A700 with the VC (this camera is our connection to Canon - Nikon, and it IS a good camera), use the lenses I allready have (the beercan is fast on the A700 by the way!) and go safe some extra money for the Zeis 135/1.8 (did I tell you that THAT is a great lens,.. no??)

OK.
Here some shots I made at the A700 teaser meeting in Nijmegen. Good initiative from Grubeater, Grijpink and Sony. After an afternoon with all this stuff yiu can get pretty greedy.
For me the 16-85 CZ was a revelation. The other stuff I just keep dreaming of (. . . . the sound - whizzz - of the 70-200, the speed of the 300 . . . ).

a normal 16-80


a 135 1.7 at 7.1




and at 1.7(with an extreme shallow DOF)


And yes I did try the A700 and yes I will by one (with VG, not available yet)
