I have to say these meetings can be dangerous to you bank account. It was nice meeting everyone and getting the opportunity to try some first class G gear. Thanks to Dcap for letting me try his M 16mm & 85 G, Anthony for letting me try his 28-70 G and Mark for really setting my lens lust to new levels with the Sony 70-200 SSM G (OMG SWEET!!!!) I look forward to the next meeting, hopefully warmer next time:)

dCap thinking - "I must not try the Sony 2.8/70-200 SSM that Mark had with him" (darn it, I tried it) ... oooh its fast and quiet
I also touched a Minolta film camera! Blurgh! Thank you Craig! That's a first for me. Now I've seen what my 16 fisheye does on full frame, grrrr, now I want full frame son dSLR like everyone else. (expensive meeting!) Got home to find my scarf and gloves on the kitchen table ... should have been in the bag! Next time we invite the following members: - SunShine - BlueSky - FluffyWhiteClouds - MissWarm Edited by dCap - 25 March 2007 at 00:32 |

...and despite us going over "who's who" in the pub, Bob still managed to continue getting me & Mark mixed-up! [I'm in the middle...] ...but well done considering the pedestrian traffic and impromptu positioning - I would have been nervous someone might have had the cam away! My favourite five [...well, so far at any rate - out of 180+ keepers]
All with the 5D & 17-35/2.8-4, except the last [hopefully I'll get the shots from the 5 developed during the week]: A well known landmark: Whilst the others were watching skateboarders I looked straight up: Duotone conversion in HelcionFilter: Wish I'd stopped down a bit more, but light was failing: Another classic landmark, with the 28/2 wide-open: A really good day out [although a long one for me] - really looking forward to the next & more... Cheers IDM |

Well I must say that today was a great day spend out in London.
Not only did I get to play with some sexy Sony lens but my eyes were opened to the future and past of the Minolta generation. I will post some images later but I've only just re-installed my friends pc so the first page I went to was Dyxum. One click with a Sony 70-200 on an Alpha and you'll be dreaming of owning one for yourself. I kid you not! I'm off to look for some Russian MD lens on ebay.... Lets make plans for the next meeting. |
