As discussed here we're to organising a Dyxum meeting at the Museum Buurtspoorweg in Haaksbergen on Sunday August 27, 2023.

This is the train schedule for the day

I suggest we meet in Haaksbergen around 11:00, have coffee and look around (incl. photography) until the train arrives from Boekelo at 12:05

Then take the train to Boekelo at 12:45 and be back in Haaksbergen at 14:20. After that we see the train depart again at 15:00 and can spend the rest of the day looking and photographing other material and operation.

I know my way around there pretty well and I'm also trying to get a guide from the museum for part of the day to help us a bit but not sure if I am successful.

Access to the museum and trainride is not free,   you can find the prices here

People who indicated interest in the other thread were addy landzaat, Harm vb, overeema, Fred_S and KoBra64. Pls. confirm if you're still interested and available. Also there's enough room to make the group bigger, so just post below if you want to join, no restrictions, the more the merrier I would say!

Any participants want to join from Gorinchem, please PM me, I have 3 to 4 seats left.

You can buy tickets beforehand via the website or when we are there at the station. Price is the same for both methods.

Thanks for the offer Harm, but my route goes via Eindhoven/Arnhem so carpooling would be a bit unpractical.


Other issue that we might face is the weather, current forecast is 5 mm rain the 27th, mainly spread in the afternoon. No big problem for me (in the train we're dry, there's some photo opportunities in sheds and as they say, there's no bad weather for photography, only insufficient gear protection) but how do others look at that?

Currently saturday looks mainly dry so I hope that will shift to sunday so our meeting can go ahead. I'll keep a close look on the forecasts.

If we cancel for me the next opportunity will be next year, most of september and oktober I'm not available and after that they stop for the season.

Here's the forecast for Haaksbergen

Currently sunday looks mostly dry with only a short sprinkle at 4 pm. I bet it will still change several times until then so I will make my decision to go (or not) probably somewhere by saturday.
