Before I dive into the processing of all yesterday's pictures, let's open the ball with the thread for this Benelux Dyxum Meeting.
We had a nice day with a group of eight. It was very nice to meet again. Unfortunately our intended guide PieterB was unable to come, but fortunately there was another Pieter to set out a walking tour last minute. The weather was as predicted: cold, cloudy, but dry. For some finding the starting point was a bit of a challenge ![]() Thanks all for the pleasant company! FS1 The title frame ![]() FS2 And then ofcourse the traditional group shot, oudside the church ![]() From left to right: Leo (darosa), Jet (@Jetsplace), Domien (Dopol), Pieter (pegelli), Harm (Harm vb), Tonny (Jet's Olympus/Nikon friend), me (Fred_S) and Ivo (minolta_mutley). Splendid start Fred!
It was indeed a a very nice day in good company and giving the temperature outside we didn't mind having to wait inside a little longer before everybody arrived ![]() Lunch was good but dinner was a bit spartan, but that's because the Breda inhabitants crowded the good restaurants with advance reservations leaving no room for cold day tourists to get a good meal ![]() I haven't started processing yet, but here's one other obligatory photo p1: Setting up the group shot ![]() A7ii + Fred's Takumar 50/1.4 |

It was a fun day.
Too bad I didn't bring gloves, cause it was @#$I*& cold. Luckily I could lend some small bags that were chemically heating my hands. Enough complaining. I wasn't in Breda too often, so it was a new experience. I started using my Lensbaby Edge 80mm The lens allows picking an in-focus-plane. See what I mean D01 Breda beguinage ![]() The in-focus area runs from the bottom left corner to the small house on the right side. And then some experimenting with it D02 Horizontal ![]() D03 Vertical ![]() D04 diagonal: Small church on Beguinage territory ![]() D05 bottom: Small room, just enough for one beguine ![]() All ILCE-1 Lensbaby Edge 80mm @ F/2,8 Edited by Dopol - 21 November 2022 at 19:31 |

HB02 is great advice, not only for Dyxum meetings
HB05 looks familiar ![]() HB06 I like that lens, it makes me look skinny and long ![]() D1 very nice effect the selective depth of focus D5 well seen Time for one "semi illegal" photo from me, wrong body/mount but I used a Minolta lens (M-mount) p4: Hercules and the Nemean Lion in Park Valkenberg ![]() Leica M246M + Minolta M-Rokkor 28/2.8 |

Lovely to have this armchair visit to Breda courtesy of you intrepid Dyxumers who obviously had to brave some cold.
The Grote Kerk ceiling looks magnificent, and I really like the selective focus of the Lensbaby in D01. Similar effect to using Tilt on a Tilt/Shift lens, but presumably with a huge size and weight saving. D05 could have been a still life painting by one of the Dutch Masters. Looking forward to lots more. |

Thanks Joe.
It is a lot smaller and lighter than the average tilt/shift lens. Harm, what they saw in HB03 was this: D06 ![]() Photographing photographers is a Dyxum-Meeting-Hobby So here are the others D07 we had chicken for dinner ![]() D08 Harm I didn't see the result yet ![]() D09 For some inexplicable reason this is called The Red Bridge ![]() all taken with ILCE-1 and 7020GMM2 I will turn to decent subjects in the next batch |

Domien, you really need to photograph photograpers taking photo's of other photographers (extending the Droste effect
![]() Harm, I really like the pano ![]() p5: let's start at the beginning, what do you do when two participants need an hour to find the meeting place in the station and two others are still underway on the train? Well, you drink coffee and do silly wide-angle shoot-outs, what else ![]() ![]() A7Rii + Voigtländer Super Wide Heliar 15/4.5 III p6: In case you get lost on the canals of Breda there's always the lighthouse to save you ![]() p7: He was happy to see us, but he didn't give us any candy ![]() ![]() p8: A close up of Hercules and the Nemean Lion ![]() p6 - p8: A7ii + Tamron 28-200 Di III RXD More to come ![]() |

p9: Leo and two ladies ![]() p10: Fred studying benches ![]() p11: Harm doing WA macro of fungi ![]() p12: Lunchtime for Domien ![]() p13: Not part of our group, here's another Sony (headphone) user, but fully "in trance" ![]() All except p12 are A7ii + Tamron 28-200 Di III RXD p12: Leica M246M + Summicron 50/2 (rigid) |
