The 500mm reflex F8 surprised me in a very positive way. I have tried it on my A550. I really like that lens. I won't mind to have it in my photobag, but I don't mind to have that other 500mm as well. I did not win the lotery recently, so there have to happen other miracles. :)
I am thinking to contact to Char or Uri Geller...maybe that is going to do the trick...

No the big 500/f4 doesn't tempt me at all. It is far too heavy and far too expensive. I could never justify the expense because of what I normally shoot. I hardly ever use the far side of my 70-300. I'd be more tempted to buy a really expensive wide angle lens or the Zeiss 24-70.

The mirror lens on the other hand could be usefull. It is really light and nobody will notice it.

We discussed this matter in Den Bosch the other day. I think most people don't practice streetphotography with this enormous white thing. But I think I do like it in de Biesbosch. In most occasions my 120-400mm does a good job. I am not the one that is going to sit in a shelter and wait and see. So buying a lens which is even more expensive than my newly bought car is a bit against my principles. But I do like to rent it if possible in the future.
My wide angle Tamron 10-24mm is far from expensive, but I think it does a good job. Before I bought it, I compare several lensens, and it turned out, this one fits the best for me. A pity that you could not try it. If you want, be my guest and PM me. We can arrange something in the area where I live.
In mean time, I am going to look for a 500mm Reflex. Thanks to Remko. He also gave me advice what to pay for an old Minolta.
I used my 70-200 F2.8 Sigma for streetphotography in Den Bosch, in some occasions I use my Sigma 105 mm F2.8 Macro and I even use my Tamron for 'hipshots'
