Thanks for the nice comment Lee, much appreciated. It's also amazing how being out a week with two other like minded photographers inspires to keep seeing different and new things, despite being in the same place at the same time. Obviously there will be some repetition, but also many unique viewpoints by each of us.

p195: Our hotel in Edinburgh had no elevator, but made it up by a gorgious old fashined staircase

p196: While Fred was still working on his lens choice I took a shot of our Hotel

p197: see F207, but the chimneys on the other side of the road got the same nice late afternoon sunlight

p198: #42, I couldn't resist, however F208 is a more accurate representation of the state of maintenance of many of these beautiful houses

p199: One of the many typical "crescent" type streets in the neighbourhood of the hotel

Next stop: Dean village

Beautiful houses in Edinburgh (F207 P192) under a great sky
And luckily one of us spotted 42 (P198)

Just before getting to Dean Village, we walked through this street

D169

D170 Clouds were following us entering Dean Village

D171 Clouds creeping in

D172 Clouds almost took over. But the sun didn't give up

D173 Up-and-Down

All Sony A6700 with E 18-135nn F3.5-5.6 OSS. Except D172 with A1 and 16-35mm F4

Nice series Domien, especially in D173 "Up-and-down" the man with the dog really brings that one to life.

Not many about these days - you are more likely yo find a library or defibrillator than a phone.

Thanks Phil, and that's indeed why I took a photo of this one. There's many student quarters in Dean Village and maybe the students prefer a payphone over their smartphone

Yes, the late afternoon walk through Edinburgh was certainly worthwhile and I like your series Fred, F219 and F220 are indeed very characteristic of Dean Village and in F216 you can see the bridge from which I took p204. Nice view with the tower in the background.

After Dean Village we climbed up to The Dean Bridge via the road you can see in D173 on the right, I only took one (good) photo there. I guess I was tired and needed a dinner which we took care of shortly after and before a nice nighttime stroll through Edinburgh. Unfortunately we left our tripods in the car, so we had to make do with fences and walls for support and high iso when we couln't find a good spot but the results (as far as I'm concerned) didn't disappoint

p207: Spooky graveyard around St Cuthbert

p208: Blue hour at the cemetery

p210: Close up of a part of the Edinburgh Castle

p211: A tram whizzing through Princes street

Thanks Mestari and Harm.

I agree it's quite different from the landscapes at Skye but we found it a nice change to make some city scapes as well, and Edinburgh is a lot closer to Newcastle where we had to catch the ferry the next day. So this stop allowed us much more time through the highlands between Skye and Edinburgh and a leisurely trip to next day to Newcastle.

One more nightshot of the Edinburgh Castle

Nice moonlit castle Pieter (as was your moonlit church P206).
And thx, Mestari and Harm
Let's see if I can bring another angle to these shots (I don't think so though)
