I visited Edinburgh several times in the seventies, once to get married, my wife's parents lived there. I thought I knew the city well but Dean Village is new to me

I'm continuing to enjoy this set as it nears its end.

Thanks Mestari and Alan.

And Alan, Dean village is certainly worthwhile to visit if you ever find yourself in Edinburgh. Maybe you know the places we saw on our walk saturday morning better. We still had a few hours there before we had to drive to Newcastle to catch the ferry back to IJmuiden.

p213: Thorphichen Street School

p214: One of the small streets on our walk to the city center

p215: The same street a bit further

p216: Shadwick Place with double deckers and a tram

p217: And another one for Phil and Howard

Having been away I have missed so many of these series. I do like the shots of Invergarry Castle (D157 and F196) and the patch of light in D156. The wreck has been captured well in F200, and Pieter's detail from the dam (P191) is very good. You've seen more of Edinburgh and Leith than I have, and there are nice details like the chimneys (F207) and windows (F208). Dean village is new to me (all). I always like a good sign (F221) and thanks for the telephone boxes, Pieter, although P217 is a weird hybrid club entrance? D186 is striking - who uses the word 'relict' nowadays?

Thank you all - how many photos in total on this trip (before culling and editing)?

I like the Dutch (coffee) bakfiets Domien. Great processing

Thanks Howard, I knew the double telephonebox was "fake", but I found it interesting anyway

My total images before culling was 1565, after deleting the obvious failures (technical/composition/duplicates) there are 1327 left in my LR catalog. Of those I think less than 20% will end up in this thread and some others in different threads.

Thanks for the comments

I like P218, the one shot that shows it all.

to Howard: I took over 2.500 photos and culled them down to about 1.000. Some more to go).

A few last shots of Edinburgh before we went for the ferry.

D193: It's in central Edinburgh but it's known as Edinburgh Waverley.
D195: I see you all lost a lot of weight on the Skye hills!
